Frontier Internet has reported major outages in most of the Northeast and Midwest, including some areas in Texas and Florida.
The company reported Friday that most of its customers in Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey were experiencing outages, as well as in several other areas in Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Frontier said that some of its wireless customers had lost power for more a day, and others had experienced limited service.
“As of Monday morning, Frontier Internet is experiencing intermittent outages impacting the majority of our service areas in the Northeast,” the company said in a statement.
“As a result, Frontier will be temporarily suspending service on our network.”
“We apologize to customers for the inconvenience this has caused, but we are taking the necessary actions to address this problem,” Frontier said.
In Florida, Frontier reported that its mobile internet service was down in parts of the state, but that its DSL service was also down.
The company said that it was working to restore service as soon as possible.
Frontier is also trying to get the power restored to its customers, although the utility company said it was not able to reach them for assistance until late Saturday night.
Customers in Texas are also experiencing outage issues.
According to Frontier, customers were seeing outages for more of the day on the Texas Power & Light grid, but in the past 24 hours, Frontier said it has been experiencing more of its DSL customers in areas in Dallas and Fort Worth have been experiencing intermittent service problems.
Frontier also said that its customers were experiencing problems with their data connection in some areas of Dallas.
In Pennsylvania, Frontier is experiencing out-of-band service problems on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, according to the company.
Frontier says that about 50,000 customers are impacted, but said that most have not experienced any outages.
Frontier did say that a significant number of Frontier DSL customers have experienced a delay in receiving their monthly service allotment.
Frontier’s DSL service is also down in most areas of New Jersey.
Frontier reported it was experiencing severe outages across the region in some cases, and that some customers have had to cancel their services.
In Delaware, Frontier says its DSL was down for several hours in parts in Delaware.
Frontier issued a statement saying that it is working with its customers to determine how to restore the service.
Frontier reports that DSL service in parts at Delaware State University is currently down as well.
Frontier customers have been unable to access online banking, or receive notifications of bills.
Frontier has been working with customers to get their money back.
