ViasAT is the new internet, a new kind of communications tool for teams, broadcasters and fans, and now the NHL is getting in on the action.
The NHL and NHLPA have announced a deal that allows NHL players to sign up to receive free internet service at all Viasats.
Viasato will pay the NHL and the NHLPA for the service.
Viasat, an operator of the VDS network in China, is currently the leading provider of free internet in the world.
The league, which has a $500 million agreement with the company, has not announced a pricing schedule for the Vosat internet service.
Viosat was one of the first internet providers to provide internet service to NHL players in 2014, but the NHL has been unable to reach an agreement on terms for the services.
