Comcast, which is the country’s second largest cable company, is offering customers a $1 million discount if they cancel their broadband contract with the company.
The offer is made by Comcast on its website and applies to customers who want to cancel their existing cable package and switch to the company’s new plan.
The $1m discount is for customers who signed up for Comcast’s broadband service in the previous 12 months, the company said in a statement.
It said it is offering this offer to those who are planning to switch providers or who have not yet made the switch.
The company said it will continue to offer other promotional deals, such as new cable TV and phone services, on its new plan, as it tries to build a strong business for future expansion.
Comstock (CMCSA:CMCC) has faced increasing competition in recent years, as rivals such as AT&am and Verizon have introduced cheaper and faster broadband plans.
